Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board on Thursday allowed the formation of a committee to scrutinise a proposal concerned with the restoration of cancelled properties – before considering its summary for approval, according to news sources.

A CDA board meeting was held at the headquarters, with CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed in the chair. As per the Restoration Policy 2014, the board is required to restore the properties that have been cancelled for the terms and conditions’ breach of their allotment letters. However, the east wing expressed its wish to amend the policy and delegate the power to a committee or a member. In response, the board permitted for the constitution of a committee instead.

Moreover, the board also approved the new dates of the auction of 24 commercial plots – to be held this month. In addition, the board also approved the revised budget estimates summary for the fiscal year 2020-21. The board then approved a summary regarding Kashmir Highway’s alignment (from Golra Moor to Grand Trunk (GT Road)) and subjected it to the environmental impact assessment before execution.
