Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has begun the first phase of the city-wide plan to rehabilitate and upgrade residential and commercial areas simultaneously.
In this vein, carpeting of major roads and avenues, setting up of signboards, proper lane marking, fixing of curb stones, maintenance of footpaths, provision and improvement of civic amenities, and general beautification of the city is being carried out. Reportedly, parks are also being upgraded and the landscaping of intersections and chowks has started as well.
According to the civic authority, this plan has been envisioned to provide exemplary living for the residents and to beautify the city even further. A news source stated that the CDA is strictly monitoring all work and assessing quality.
Tendering documents for the second phase of the plan have been prepared and work will duly begin as soon as formalities are taken care of.
