Islamabad: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Housing and Works was informed on Wednesday that there weren’t any structural stability issues in the multi-storey apartments being developed in sector I-12 by the Pakistan Housing Authority Foundation (PHAF), according to news sources. As per the publication, once the Capital Development Authority (CDA) had verified the durability of the building in question, it proceeded with unsealing the project so that construction work could continue.

Under this PHAF project, a total of 3,200 flats are being constructed in the underdeveloped sector I-12, and the CDA has also granted a mandatory approval to the apartments’ layout plan. Initially, the CDA had sealed the structure on September 26 in order to conduct a thorough examination of the work being conducted on the building site. Once its investigation was over, the authority promptly unsealed the property.

The Housing Minister Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema informed the meeting that the foundations of the buildings were are all on the firm strata, which had a varying depth between 20ft to 30ft. He added that the no structural stability issues had been found, and that news regarding such problems were just rumours.
