Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) recently held its first in-person hearings for the owners of cancelled properties, which is a historic first move of its kind taken by the authority, according to news published on April 05.

As many as 100 people affected by cancellation of their property were given the chance to present their grievances directly before the CDA chairman and the legal team formulated to assist him. During the hearing, CDA Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal expressed his discontentment with stalled progress of resolution of issues surrounding allotments in Park Enclave Phase III. He instructed the Estate Wing to resolve the issues in Park Enclave III in a month – in compliance with rules and regulations.
It was highlighted that the issues of owners of cancelled plots will be heard each month in similar in-person hearings. Mengal emphasized the importance of the resolution of issues in accordance with the existing regulations and promotion of economic activity in the region with CDA as its facilitator. He also asked for building plans for commercial structures to be approved in one month.

The chairman iterated that commercial plots in Sectors I-14, I-15, and I-16 will be auctioned off in the upcoming auction to be held next month to further encourage economic activity.
