Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is proceeding with its campaign geared towards the implementation of the building bylaws and regulations within private residential schemes throughout the city, according to news sources. As a follow-up to this effort, the civic authority’s Building Control Directorate-II reported receiving over 1,100 building plans, of which 965 plans were successfully approved by the government authority.
In the first phase of this campaign, the department is focusing on approving the plans of residential buildings in the private housing schemes, while the second phase will involve the review for approval of plans for commercial properties. Subsequently, legal notices have been issued to the building owners in Sector E-11 for violations/ non-conforming use of residential structures.

It important to note that the reason why the directorate has been receiving a rising number of plans for approval is that most of the residents of private housing societies appreciate the importance of building bylaws and regulations, and their correct implementation. This has also led to a rise in the number of people notifying the CDA about nonconforming use of residential buildings.
