Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has directed the officials of the authority’s Building Control Agency to conduct a survey of buildings in the capital city to identify the damage caused by the recent earthquake, according to news published on March 22.

The Building Control Agency officials have been asked to assess if any building has been damaged, especially in Sector E-11. He directed the officials to start the survey without any delay and submit a detailed report. The survey will help determine the extent of damage the earthquake caused to the buildings.

The survey findings will also assist in taking measures to address the issues and prevent future harm. According to Mengal, safety of citizens is of paramount importance. Through this survey, the authority will identify the buildings that may require repairs or pose a safety threat, he added. The CDA chairman emphasized the need for taking prompt action and has requested all the officials to work together to conduct an effective and thorough survey.
