Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to implement significant changes in its fee structure for building control activities, following a recent meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, as reported by a news source on May 22.

According to the details, for the financial year 2023-24, the CDA Building Control Directorate has decided to increase several charges related to building control. These include scrutiny fees, fines for unauthorized construction work, and setback charges etc.

The fee related to land use alterations and adjustments in floor area ratio (FAR) will also be revised, having remained unchanged since 2017. The new fee structure will come into effect from July 1, 2024 onwards, with existing charges applied before July 1 to facilitate smooth transitions. These changes particularly impact land use alterations in Zone II, Zone IV, and Zone V, reflecting the CDA’s commitment to effectively managing and regulating construction activities in the capital city, in line with its urban development and governance mandate.
