Previously, the CDA Planning Wing decided the cases of revised layout plans, however, the chairman secretariat on Wednesday took notice of the approval of the revised LOPs without the input of the CDA Board and changed the mechanism.
The official sources from the Planning Wing reported that the member planning’s office has been restricted from approving the revised layout plans of housing projects in the city without the approval of the board.
The letter from the chairman secretariat stated that all approvals related to the revision of LOPs will be tabled before the CDA Board and necessary amendments in regulation will be incorporated if needed. The letter also said that this decision will improve the performance of the Planning Wing.

The sources revealed that many housing project owners got the approval of LOPs from the CDA in the past and sold out plots without getting a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the said purpose. In many cases, the operators of housing schemes sold out land initially meant for green spaces and amenities like mosques, schools, graveyards and parks.
