Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Monday (December 27) opened bids for awarding a contract for the construction of a parking plaza in the Blue Area, according to news sources. The National Logistics Cell (NLC) was the lowest bidder with PKR 1274.548 million.

As per the details, the car parking plaza will be developed near Savor Foods along Jinnah Avenue in the Blue Area. The said parking plaza will have the capacity to park 1,300 vehicles. The plaza will also have shops to generate revenue for the civic agency and generate its maintenance expenses. These shops will be on the ground floor. Furthermore, the 5th floor of the plaza will feature restaurants.
The CDA expects to earn income from this project and at the same time relieve the market from constant traffic jams. The project is expected to be completed within a year.

Reportedly, the CDA is expected to invite tenders for six more parking plazas to be built in the following areas: F-8 Markaz, I-8 Markaz, near Centaurus Mall, near Karachi Company, and in F-10 Markaz.
