Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has opened bids for the hiring of a consultancy firm for the Bhara Kahu bypass project, news sources reported on June 7. The project is part of the Margall Hills Road project.

According to reports, only two bidders filed proposals for the consulting, including the state-owned National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), which bid PKR 66 million. Umar Munshi Associates was the second, with a proposal of PKR 43 million. One of these firms will be given the consultancy task and it will also work as an assistant to the employer’s representative (AER). The CDA is the employer, and the firm will monitor construction, which will begin after the approval of Project Concept-I (PC-1) from the CDA’s Development Working Party (DWP) meeting. Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) will carry out this project in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode, while CDA’s appointed consultant firm will oversee construction work.

It is also worth noting that the Bhara Kahu project is part of the Margalla Hills Road project, which spans 33 kilometres. The project is divided into three phases, the second of which includes the Bhara Kahu bypass.
