Moreover, the IHC sought an explanation from the CDA, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam, and the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) for failing to take adequate steps to counter environmental degradation in the capital city.
Reportedly, Chief Justice Athar Minallah made these statements regarding environment impact assessment while presiding over a petition filed by a resident of Sector I-8 against the construction of a boundary wall along the ravine. During the hearing, Director Pak-EPA Amir Abbas Khan stated that the mentioned site had been inspected.
