Islamabad: Local landowners have requested the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for monetary compensation in exchange for the land on which the authority plans to develop Sector E-12, a news source reported.

Previously, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had directed the civic agency to clear the dues of locals against their built up property (BUP) claims – in a case pertaining to the development of the said sector.
As per reports, the locals concerned have said that they are willing to cooperate with CDA officials on the condition that the civic agency allots them plots in developed sectors of the capital city.
The authority has said that it has already paid compensations to a majority of the local landowners. It recently conducted a number of anti-encroachment operations in the area, and vacated a chunk of land.

The Sector E-12 project, which was announced in the 70s, measures over 777 acres. It consist of six mouzas: Dharek Mohri, Bhakar Mohri, Bhakkar Fateh Baksh, Bara Darri, Sari Saral, and Golra Sharif.
