Islamabad: In a significant decision for stakeholders in the Nilore Heights housing project, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has approved the establishment of a seven-member committee to scrutinize claims related to the project. This decision was made during the 15th meeting of the CDA Board, chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA Headquarters, with all board members in attendance.
One of the key resolutions from the meeting was the approval of a full refund for the processing fees deposited by overseas Pakistanis who participated in the Nilore Heights project. This move is aimed at addressing concerns raised by investors regarding the project’s management and claims. The CDA recognized the need to support overseas citizens and ensure their investments are handled transparently.

The CDA Board also agreed to form a third-party validation committee. This committee will evaluate the recommendations made by the scrutiny committee regarding disputed claims and unsettled land issues associated with the Nilore Heights project. Victims of any discrepancies identified by the committees will be granted rehabilitation rights based on the validation committee’s findings.
In addition to the scrutiny measures, the board resolved that plots in Sector C-14 would be allotted through a draw, prioritizing overseas Pakistanis. This decision reflects the CDA’s commitment to facilitate and encourage overseas investors, who often face challenges in property matters.

The meeting also included the establishment of a committee comprising the member administration and the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad to propose changes in land acquisition regulations. This move is part of a broader effort to streamline processes and enhance efficiency within the CDA.
Moreover, the CDA Board directed its legal wing to prepare recommendations for establishing and maintaining a market, indicating a proactive approach to urban development and land management. The board approved the appointment of a new legal advisor, emphasizing that former legal advisors would be restricted from representing cases against the CDA for one year after leaving their positions.

These measures come as the CDA seeks to restore confidence among investors in the Nilore Heights project and ensure that claims and disputes are resolved fairly and transparently.
