Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) committee has approved the building plans of high-rise structures, strategically positioned at lucrative locations across the city, according to a news published in the leading newspaper on September 28.

A recent meeting of the CDA’s design-vetting committee held at the CDA headquarters was attended by officials from the planning wing of the civic body. The construction of these high-rise buildings, including a towering 26-story hotel on Club Road, encompassing a vast expanse of 27,394.40 square yards. It is set to incur substantial expenditures, involving multiple industries associated with the construction sector.
Moreover, the plan for a 15-storey building on plot number B-2, covering 1,333.33 square yards, in the New Blue Area of the city was also approved. The committee granted approval for a nine-storey building to house the Asian Development Bank, situated on a plot measuring 4,840.40 square yards in Sector G-5. Additionally, plans for a nine-storey building to accommodate the Institute of Cost Management Accounts of Pakistan were also given the green signal.

In sectors I-8 and F-8, the committee approved plans for six-storey and seven-storey buildings after a thorough review of the necessary documentation. This expansion in the city’s vertical infrastructure further highlights the determination of investors and developers to contribute to Islamabad’s burgeoning commercial sector.
Additionally, the committee granted the green light to plans for three commercial buildings located within two private housing societies, demonstrating the broader spectrum of development initiatives within the city.
