Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved PC-1 amounting to PKR 5656.24 million, according to news sources. The CDA has also invited contractors to present their pre-qualification bids.
The department has decided to prioritise its core responsibility to develop infrastructure in the stalled sectors, and is resolved to address the challenges faced for over a decade by the allottees of I-15. The development work will be launched shortly after the formal procedures are concluded.

CDA has taken possession of the entire sector, comprising of 10, 290 plots and redesigned its structure for various plot categories. The Sector I-15 was initially launched in February 2000 to counteract the housing shortage for low-income sections of society, but fell victim to unnecessary delays. In August this year, the CDA invited stakeholders to share their views on Environment Assessment Report prepared for I-15.

The department is expected to generate a sizeable revenue stream for the successful development of these stalled sectors. New commercial areas will also be created, and the revenue generated from all these sources will be utilised for the infrastructural enhancement of the city and to overcome the housing crisis.
