Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved a revised layout plan of the Northern Strip of Sectors E-11 and C-14, creating more commercial and residential plots, news sources reported on October 29.

The new plan was approved in a board meeting presided over by CDA Chairman Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman Younis. The board approved the revision of the layout plan of the E-11 Northern Strip, allowing 103 commercial and apartment plots in place of the site earlier reserved for high-rise apartment projects. The board decided that the bylaws of the marakaz of Islamabad should be applied to the said plots. Additionally, for Sector C-14, the board approved the increase in the number of plots sized 50×90 from 542 to 601. The decision was taken to fetch more revenue from the sale of plots in the sectors and enhance construction standards in the city. In addition to this, the board also approved and deliberated on the following matters:

- Auction of plots measuring over 4 acres in F-5 for developing a five-star hotel adjacent to the Marriott Hotel
- Approval of policy modifications for dealing with situations of citizens impacted by land acquisition for various sector development
- Reduced bus shuttle service fee from Bhara Kahu market to the Green Bus terminal from PKR 20 to PKR 15.
- Modifications to the Zoning Regulations 1992 for Islamabad Zone III to allow the construction in all five zones except the Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) and private land.
