Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has approved layout designs of five multi-storeyed structures for the capital – that includes the first-ever 36-storey highest residential building of its kind in the city, according to a news story published on April 14.

Reportedly, the said plans for the five multi-storeyed development projects that cover an accumulated area of million square feet were approved at the meeting of the Design Vetting Committee (DVC) of the CDA. The meeting was chaired by the chairmanship of member planning. However, the development of the 36-storey high-rise in Islamabad is subjected to the permission of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The 36-storey tallest residential buildings in Pakistan is planned to be constructed on Plot No 08 in Sector F-10 Markaz of Islamabad. It was also highlighted that 70% of the project area (11,750 sq ft) will be kept green. The details of the remaining multi-storeyed mega projects are as follows:
- A 14-storeyed structure is to be built at Plot No 13 in Sector G-11-3
- A 5-storeyed building is planned to be developed at Plot No 13 in Sector F-7
- A 5-storeyed building is planned to be developed at Plot No 12 on IJP Road
- Another 5-storeyed building will be developed on Plot No 64 in the Sector F-10 Markaz

Furthermore, the DVC meeting also approved two residential apartments, a school and two commercial projects. The source reported that the landmarks like The Centaurus and One Constitution Venue (with 26 floors each) have set the trend for high-rise buildings in Islamabad.
