Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Wednesday approved funds for PWD Underpass, Korang Bridge, and several other development projects in the capital city, a news source reported. For Financial Year (FY) 2020-21, CDA approved 89 development projects; the largest number of uplift schemes approved for a single year.

To this effect, the civic body allocated a sum of PKR 24.5 billion for the development projects, which include 66 new and 23 ongoing projects. According to details, CDA allocated funds for the following major projects as part of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP):
- PWD Underpass construction
- Korang Bridge construction
- Water from Indus feasibility
- Land acquisition & construction of 10th Avenue
On the other hand, CDA would spend funds on the following projects from its own resources:
- Low-cost housing for slums
- Park Enclave Extension
- Interchange construction at 7th Avenue
- Public toilets
- Cleaning of nullahs
- Traffic system
- Land fill
- Public transport
- Preservation of green areas & forest parks
- Housing for BPS-01 to BPS-16 employees

As part of its non-development budget, CDA has allocated PKR 2112.40 million for Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI)’s expenditure for three months.
