According to authorities, the goal of the anti-encroachment effort is to safeguard government land from encroachers and keep Islamabad encroachment-free in compliance with the federal government’s directives.
The encroachment operation was carried out by the CDA’s enforcement branch, which was backed up by a heavy contingent of police and district administration. During the operation starting from Saidpur, a boundary wall and small rooms with gates were demolished, and several sections of the plaza in Sector I-10/4 were demolished. Similarly, a plaza built on government land in the Shakrial area’s Zia Masjid and another built at Sarai Mado in Sangjani were demolished. Moreover, an under-construction damp proof course (DPC) section was removed in Islamabad’s Bari Imam neighbourhood.
