Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to proceed with the long-anticipated automation of residential and commercial property records in the federal capital, as disclosed in a news article on January 4.

CDA Chairman Captain (R) Anwarul Haq, has recently presided over the CDA Development Working Party, which, among other projects, sanctioned a PKR 170 million PC-1 for the automation initiative. The meeting witnessed the presence of officials from the Finance, Planning, and Interior Ministries.
The automation project’s contract is set to be awarded to a government firm on a government-to-government basis. The chosen firm is expected to computerise the records of 45 million papers within a two-year timeframe.

Additionally, the contracted firm will be entrusted with maintaining and operating the automated property record system. This strategic step is anticipated to address concerns related to fraudulent activities and streamline the functioning of the CDA’s property management systems.
