Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has reported an increase in building-plan submissions made by builders and developers following a series of operations (launched by the civic agency’s Building Control Section-II) conducted against illegal housing schemes in the city.

The CDA had recently sealed a number of structures over their reported violations of the authority’s building plans, non-conforming use and other issues. The main objective of these drives was to convince private developers to submit their building plans for obtaining formal approvals.
As per reports, several citizens have voluntarily commenced with the demolition of non-conforming structures in Islamabad.

Further, in order to improve service delivery and facilitate the general public, the CDA has strengthened its BCS-II Directorate through the appointment of additional staff and resources.
