Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) allotted the 225-kanal land for the Bhara Kahu Bypass project to Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU), according to news published on October 9.

The CDA allotted the said land to QAU through a letter stating it is allotted free of all encumbrances. As per the details, the allotted land is in the contiguity of QAU boundary pillars in the Malpur mouza. In the letter, the CDA has asked the QAU registrar to nominate a person for assisting the civic managers in taking possession of the said land.
Moreover, it was mentioned in there will be no changes in the allotment letter issued on October 15, 1988. The authority issued a statement stating that CDA Chairman Captain Mohammad Usman Younis has directed the Land, Estate Management-II and Planning Directorate to issue the land swap letter to the university immediately. He also asked the relevant officials to complete all the formalities at the earliest.

Additionally, the CDA Chairman asked the members of Estate and Planning Wings to communicate with the Vice Chancellor of QAU to resolve the issue. The news source mentioned that the university will be awarded an alternate land in the adjacent area. It was revealed that a total of 650-kanal land of QAU falls in the alignment of the road being constructed under the Bhara Kahu Bypass project.
