Lahore: In a significant development for economic and technological advancement, the Central Business District (CBD) Punjab has signed 16 MoUs for Nawaz Sharif IT (NSIT) City, as reported by a news source on May 23. These agreements were signed with 12 top Chinese companies, three Turkish firms, and one Pakistani IT enterprise.

According to the news details, Punjab’s Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, oversaw the signing ceremony, which saw the presence of notable figures like Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima and Provincial Minister for Information Punjab Azma Bukhari. The agreements were executed by CBD Punjab Chief Operating Officer (COO) Brigadier (retd) Mansoor Janjua, and representatives from the partnering companies.

Major companies such as Huawei, CMEC, and STDC from China, and Tumas Turk Engineering and Hayat Kimya from Turkey, are among those partnering with the CBD Punjab for development of NSIT City. RUDA CEO Imran Amin highlighted the significance of these partnerships, emphasizing their role in advancing Pakistan’s largest IT hub.
These agreements are expected to accelerate the development of NSIT City, which aims to become Pakistan’s premier IT hub, including sectors for technology, education, and the creative industries like film.
