Lahore: The Central Business District (CBD) Punjab is set to finalise the Walton Road Upgradation Project prior to the arrival of the monsoon season, as highlighted in a recent news article published on February 2.

According to the details, a meeting was chaired by the CBD Punjab Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Amin to assess the project’s progress and stressed the need for swift completion. Technical Executive Director Riaz Hussain provided an update on the project, noting ongoing backfilling work following conduit excavation and concrete pouring. Concurrently, roadworks have commenced alongside the backfilling process.
It is anticipated that backfilling will be completed shortly, paving the way for the initiation of the ADA Nullah upgrade. Progress is also reported on the Major Ishaq Shaheed Flyover Piles Caps. Efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow during construction include the provision of alternative routes along Walton Road. The completion of this upgrade project is expected to provide lasting solutions to sewage and traffic issues in the area.

Furthermore, ongoing projects by CBD Punjab include continuous day and night work on flyovers at the CBD Punjab Boulevard Walton Railway Crossings. Progress milestones include the casting of all 164 girders for the flyovers, and the completion of construction for abutment walls, piers, and transoms. Concrete pouring for the transoms has been finalised, with MSC wall completion at 45%, and girder placement set to commence shortly.
