Lahore: The Central Business District (CBD) Punjab has introduce the Blue Road concept to modernise infrastructure in Lahore, according to news published on May 2. The city will be the first in Asia to have adopted the Blue Road concept.

The news source mentioned that Blue Roads were designed to provide a sustainable alternative to traditional asphalt roads. The innovative technology incorporates heat observation and energy-conserving features to decrease pollution and promote a healthy environment. According to CBD officials, CBD CEO is personally monitoring the pace of construction work on CBD Boulevard to ensure that the project delivery deadline is met.
As per the details, the said road utilises a specialised coating that reflects sunlight and reduces the amount of heat absorbed by the road surface. Also, the reflective coating provides better visibility for drivers at night, which is essential for improving road safety.

CBD CEO Imran Amin, while expressing his views, stated that the Blue Road concept has been successfully implemented in several European and Middle Eastern countries like France, Netherlands, and Qatar. The authority is excited to introduce this concept in Pakistan as it will contribute to the vision of creating a modern, sustainable, and inclusive society in the province, he added.
