Lahore: The Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA) has issued a work order for the remodelling and construction of CBD Boulevard and Kalma Chowk Underpass project, news sources reported on November 9.
According to the plan, the CBD has urged the city administration to develop a traffic diversion strategy and control motors coming and going towards the Center Point and Main Boulevard. The administration has decided to block the Kalma Chowk Underpass to all sorts of traffic for a month during the first phase of the renovation.
During construction, one side of Main Boulevard will be available to traffic going from Barkat Market to Liberty Market.
Traffic from Firdous Market, Ali Zaib Road, Barkat Market, and Ferozepur Road will be able to use the Service Lane.
Traffic heading from Model Town to Liberty will be detoured around Gaddafi Stadium.
The proposal also includes a clear pathway for the inhabitants of Falcon Society.
To prevent inconvenience for travellers, the authorities have planned to close the roads for a particular time period based on the progress of the construction work.
