Karachi: The Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) has formed an action committee to remove encroachments and other illegal structures within its jurisdiction, reported a news source.
CBC Executive Officer Rana Kashif Shehzad gave these orders while presiding over a meeting at the board’s main office on June 13.

Higher officials from various departments monitoring illegal construction activities in the city were all present at the occasion. The participants also discussed various measures to remove and contain encroachment and illegal construction activities in Clifton.

Addressing the meeting, Shehzad said that the board will take serious action against the builder mafia found involved in illegal construction activities. He also warned the builders against constructing high-rise commercial buildings on residential plots in kachi abadis.

The CBC executive officer directed the officials concerned to demolish all illegally constructed buildings and structures in certain parts of the area. Furthermore, he ordered the officials to pursue the case legally against those found engaged in construction of these buildings.
