Lahore: Police has registered cases against 50 landlords and tenants in a crackdown against violation of Temporary Residence Ordinance 2015, a news source reported.

The action was taken on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera by Sargodha Police. The police officials raided various areas of the city to check details of the tenants. Tenants and landlords are legally required to submit identification details and rental agreement with the police within 14 days of taking up ‘temporary residence.’
In case of failure to comply, the authorities can take action against both the parties. Following the operation, cases were registered against offenders in the following police stations: Sajid Shaheed, Salanwali, Kot Momin, Phularwan, Jhal Chakian, Urban Area, Tarkhanwala, City Bhalwal, Saddar Bhalwal, Factory Area, and in Bhera among other stations.
