As per details, this decision, made during a meeting focused on revenue matters with Additional Deputy Commissioner of Revenue (ADCR) Imtiaz Janjua and other revenue officers, aims to ensure that these societies comply with legal and financial standards. The audit will scrutinise the fees charged by these housing societies to confirm adherence to regulatory requirements. The meeting also reviewed the implementation of previous directives and addressed pending revenue cases. Key priorities included meeting revenue targets and advancing the digitisation of land records to improve public convenience.
DC Memon stressed the importance of promptly resolving all pending revenue cases and highlighted the role of digital policies in streamlining processes. He instructed the ADCR to provide daily reports on these cases to the Revenue Department and mandated action against any revenue staff causing delays without valid reasons.
In parallel with the housing society audit, the Excise and Taxation Department, led by Assistant Excise Officer Asif Shah, conducted a rigorous operation targeting vehicle compliance. This operation addressed issues such as unauthorised number plates, tinted windows, police revolving lights, and outstanding token taxes.
