Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Cantt Board has begun its operation against illegal constructions as well as those without approved maps, a news source reported. The authority issued notices to 22 owners during this operation.

The board has also issued show cause notices to ten food joints in the city. These notices have been served for not maintaining standards of hygiene, and conducting business without licences.
The Building Control Department issued notices to the owners in the following areas:
- Marble Factory
- Quaid-e-Azam Colony
- Usmania Colony
- Misrial Road
- Farooqabad
- Ahmedabad
- Peshawar Road

These owners have been directed to submit maps for their constructions soon. Meanwhile, the Food Branch conducted a checking process in areas of Peshawar Road, Saddar, and Allahabad. The officials collected samples of 14 items during their checking. The said samples were then sent to the laboratory for testing.
