The new visa processing centre will open after security inspections and the installation of security equipment in the country’s capital. According to sources, the Canadian government closed its visa office in 2012 owing to the country’s insufficient security standards. The operations of the Canadian High Commission were relocated to Abu Dhabi, and candidates were obliged to fly to the Gulf country for the interview. However, following successful negotiations and security assurances from Pakistan’s government, Canada has decided to resume visa services. As the number of people seeking a visa to Canada has increased in recent years, visa applicants have welcomed the shift.
