Currently, the campaign is under way in 10 high-risk slums, out of the existing 34 such settlements in the city. According to sources, 18 out of these 34 slums in the capital are illegal. In addition, the campaign is expected to last for 10 days — with one slum to be covered per day.
According to MCL Health Services Director Dr Hasan Orooj, the corporation will conduct 1,000 tests per day for 10 days straight. In order to ensure that the campaign is a success, the MCL has sought assistance from local government representatives and union council (UC) chairmen.
