Lahore: Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Babar Hayat Tarar on Monday (December 06) said that the cadastral map of Lahore will be ready by the end of December, news sources reported. The official map will also be used for the identification of state land and mapping the plot numbers.
As per the report, it was decided that the system of ‘Khasra number’ of the plots will be abolished and every plot will be given a specific number based on its type. In the first phase, the process will be started for Lahore where the Cadastral map has already been prepared and the system will be updated soon. Under the new system, every house and commercial plaza will be given a numeric number of 1,2, and 3 while every shop and apartment in a multi-storey building will also be assigned a number.
After the completion of the process, the Khasra number system will be redundant. Moreover, a similar process will be implemented in other cities of the province.
