Lahore: The Punjab cabinet on Monday provided its approval to the allotment procedure for flats in LDA City Naya Pakistan Apartments project, according to news sources. The cabinet approved the mechanism under Section 19 of The Management and Transfer of Properties by Development Authorities Act 2014.

The cabinet approved this procedure in its 41st meeting, chaired by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar. Moreover, it allowed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to enter into an agreement with the Bank of Punjab (BoP) for the project wherein 4,000 apartments will be constructed in the first phase.
As per the details shared, one apartment will cost around PKR 2.7 million and 50% quota is reserved for the public, 20% for LDA officials and 20% for provincial government employees. CM Buzdar also directed to reserve a special quota for journalists and lawyers.

The meeting also sanctioned the establishment of two cement plants in Mianwali and Dera Ghazi Khan and instructions were given to expedite the issuance of No-Objection Certificates (NOC) to all applicants. In addition, the cabinet constituted a committee to review and submit recommendations regarding the leasing of state land to Multan Gymkhana.
