Dera Ghazi Khan: A Southern bypass is being planned to improve the flow of inter-provincial heavy traffic on Quetta-Dera Ghazi (D.G.) Khan Road, according to a news story published on Saturday (January 8).

Reportedly, a 12.5-kilometre long bypass will be constructed for the smooth flow of traffic from Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan to Multan and Jampur Road to Sakhi Sarwar Road. The estimated cost of the said project was PKR 3 billion. As per the details shared about the proposed project, the Multan-Jampur Road will be linked to Quetta-Sakhi Sarwar Road. It was disclosed that bridges will be constructed on Manka Canal, Kachchi Canal, and DG Canal.
Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha mentioned that on the directives of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, all possible measures will be taken to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and prevent accidents.

Moreover, the commissioner reviewed the construction of siphon on RD 242. He went on to say that 80% of the construction has been completed. The siphons on Kachchi Canal and DG canal are expected to be completed by April.
