To facilitate this measure, the provincial executive directed the commissioners and deputy commissioners concerned to conduct a fire safety survey in all vertical constructions in Lahore. The inspection will be performed by survey teams consisting of additional deputy commissioner (revenue), Rescue 1122 district officer, civil defence officer, district officer (industries) and a representative of housing department/development authorities.
As per government rules and regulations, the installation of firefighting equipment is mandatory in all high-rises and fire safety arrangements (including safe emergency exits) have to be periodically monitored by the authorities concerned.
