Multan: In the wake of his recent meeting with Foreign Minister (FM) Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Punjab Chief (CM) Minister Usman Buzdar directed Multan Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Aamir Khattak to devise a new master plan for the city on an immediate basis, according to a news source.

FM Qureshi and CM Buzdar had met in Lahore on Monday to discuss various development projects launched in Multan. As per reports, the foreign minister proposed the construction of a flyover at Madni Chowk in order to facilitate the commuters. In response, the Multan Development Authority (MDA) has recently approved the project development.
Commenting on the current state of affairs in Multan, FM Qureshi said that the city had been ignored in the past; adding that the previous governments did not form a master plan for the city.

Following his meeting with the foreign minister, CM Buzdar ordered the Multan DC to devise the city’s master plan, as well as prepare a development package for Multan after holding consultations with the local lawmakers, on an immediate basis.
FM Qureshi also announced that he will soon pay a visit to Multan. He also mentioned that the infrastructure in South Punjab, including Multan, would be upgraded to facilitate the general public.
