Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has given approval for a plan to develop new tourism spots in Punjab, a news source reported. The plan is geared to promote tourism in the region.
While chairing a high-level meeting, the CM directed the authorities concerned to take immediate measures for the development of tourist spots in DG Khan’s Suleman Range. Additionally, the meeting’s participants decided to renovate resorts owned by the Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP) in DG Khan.

To encourage tourism in the region, the CM suggested the development of camping sites, paragliding and hip safari facilities, and local heritage markets. He discussed the vast potential of the Suleman Range for tourism, and how the government intends to ensure the provision of facilities to meet this end. These measures will also create new job opportunities in the region.
Buzdar also directed to use social media platforms for this purpose. He said that all basic facilities, including security and access to clean drinking water, must be ensured at the tourist sites. He said that similar efforts should be applied in the case of Mubarki Top.

The meeting further discussed the provision of electricity through solar panels to the new tourist sites. The CM asked to examine this possibility. Meanwhile, a project of small dams for providing clean drinking water is currently under consideration.
Extending the directives for tourism development, Buzdar also asked to take measures for Head Taunsa. He said that DG Khan’s Chowk Malik has a unique geographical position; located at the confluence point of the four provinces.
