Narowal: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar has announced a PKR 200 million package for commencing with the repair and construction work of roads in Zafarwal, a news source reported. The CM made this declaration while attending a public meeting in the area, where he also lauded the recent approval of the local government system.

Buzdar stated that while travelling to the meeting’s venue, he had noticed a shortage of proper roads in the area. Additionally, he announced the construction of a park, and upgrading Narowal’s Rescue 1122 services. He also took note of the absence of any tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital facility, and stated that the funds for building it would be released soon.

Discussing the new local government system, he said that every divisional headquarter would now function under a ‘metropolitan’ status. He added that this adjustment would help empower the public at the grassroots level, since the union council representative would be able to resolve their issues quickly.
Furthermore, he stated that these representatives would also be accountable to the masses under the new system.
