Faisalabad: Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General (DG) Dr Faisal Asim has asked buyers to check the legal status of housing schemes before buying plots to avoid frauds and scams, according to media reports.

The FDA has directed private housing societies management to display informative boards at the main gates of the societies so they can be visible to customers. The director general has ordered FDA Town Planning Directorate’s officers to ensure implementation of this policy within a week. Also, a compliance certificate will be issued after the completion of the task. Giving out more details, the information to be displayed includes:
- Total area covered by the housing society
- Map of the approved area of the housing scheme
- Approval from FDA
- Plot details
- Identification of land specified for public buildings
- Mortgaged land

Asides from this, the map of blocks must be displayed at the entrance of every block. With a rise in housing societies scams, FDA has made a list of sanctioned projects to check the legal status of housing schemes. FDA DG Dr Faisal Azim stated that this policy was devised to curb threats of housing scheme scams. With this policy, the affairs of the housing schemes will be transparent and organised.
