Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KPCCI) and Peshawar district administration will join hands for Peshawar’s beautification, according to a news report. KPCCI also demanded compensation for the traders affected by the BRT project construction.
A meeting was held at KPCCI for the purpose. Peshawar deputy commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Shaikh and SCCI president Faiz Mohammad Faizi, accompanied by other businessmen, spoke at the event. A corporate social responsibility committee was formed to liaison with the various levels of government on the businessmen’s raised issues. The committee will work as a representative body on behalf of the business community.
The beautification process will start from Peshawar Motorway Toll Plaza, and head to the Ring Road. Greenbelts will be set up along the highway network. Paintings will be adorned on the walls and intersections to present the city in a good light.
It has also been decided that a science park will be established in Hayatabad Industrial Estate. Meanwhile, the Bab-i-Peshawar Bridge will be used as a food street in the evening.
