Karachi: Sindh Information Minister Syed Nasir Shah on Thursday stated that businesses in the province would follow the timings notified by the provincial government for the coronavirus lockdown until May 31, a news source reported.

He further stated that this initiative was in line with the directives provided by the Supreme Court. Earlier, the federal executive in collaboration with all provincial governments had imposed a lockdown until May 31 to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
To this effect, the governments had allowed business activities to resume subject to notified timings and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to mitigate the socioeconomic impact of the pandemic.

On the other hand, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government re-imposed a partial lockdown from Wednesday (May 27) onwards. Advisor to the KP Chief Minister on Information Ajmal Wazir stated that all stores, except those related to essential services, would close at 5 pm, and work only from Monday to Thursday.
