The FBR issued a new rule amending the Income Tax Rules 2002 for the documentation of transactions pertaining to these businesses for accurate payment of the income tax due. FBR has made online integration compulsory for the following business categories:
- Medical care centres
- Medical diagnostic laboratories
- Photographers
- Inter-city travel by road
- Beauty parlour services
- Clinics & slimming centre services
- Guest houses
- Marriage halls & marquees
- Retailers (manufacturer-cum-retailer, wholesaler-cum-retailer, importer-cum-retailer, or any other person who combines retail sale activity with another business activity)
The FBR notification also mentioned some business categories not requiring online integration with the board. On the other hand, those required to do so are to register each point of sale to activate the integration, along with certain information required by the FBR.

The notification stated that FBR would provide a facility on its website to the customers of businesses integrated online for verifying if their bills or invoices were reported to the board’s computer system. In case of non-verification, the customers can upload images of their bill or invoices to this portal.
