Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) and the Planning and Development Department have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish an Inclusive Business Development Park (IBDP) in Peshawar, according to the news published on May 31. The main objective of this business park is to create a conducive working environment and provide opportunities for the economic development of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

The MoU was signed by KPEZDMC Chief Javed Khattak and Khyber Pass Economic Corridor (KPEC) Planning and Development Project Director Imran Zahoor. According to the agreement, the business park will set up in Peshawar, with the interim setup to be established at the Hayatabad Economic Zone. This initiative aims to be gender-inclusive, supporting the establishment of businesses by men, women, transgender individuals, and differently-abled individuals.

Furthermore, a management committee will be formed to oversee the affairs of the IBDP. The business park will also focus on supporting home-based businesses, contributing to a sustainable and inclusive economy. The business park set up in Peshawar will foster networks among businesses, facilitate knowledge creation, raise awareness, explore opportunities, and provide platforms for business-to-business ventures.
