Islamabad: Hussain Dawood – on behalf of Engro Corporation and Dawood Hercules Group – donated PKR 1 billion to reduce the coronavirus spread in the country and lessen its impact, a news source reported.

As per the publication, Dawood’s donation would help boost the testing and diagnostics of the COVID-19 in the country and prevent the spreading of the disease. Additionally, it will enable and protect healthcare-associated individuals, such as doctors and paramedics, and other workers who are combating the coronavirus on the front line. The donation will also be used to provide food ration to the affected families.

Reportedly, the Dawood foundation also expressed hope that more business persons would come forth and pledge funds for the relief efforts and help the country in this time of crisis.

In a separate proceeding, Pakistan Cables donated PKR 2 million to boost coronavirus relief endeavours. The company donated the funds to the relief efforts executed by Karachi Relief Trust (KRT).
