Islamabad: The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has assured the business community that it would withdraw its notices if traders and industrialist meet its set safety standards requirement.

MCI Director Malik Atta expressed his views on the matter. He was talking to businessmen at the office of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Monday.
He emphasised the importance of maintaining safety equipment such as fire extinguishers in industrial and commercial outlets. He said that these facilities help to prevent the occurrence of any untoward incidences.
Moreover, Malik Atta asked the traders and industrialists to meet the said safety requirements on a priority basis. To facilitate this end, MCI would organise awareness workshops in collaboration with local unions.

In response, ICCI President Ahmed Hassan Mughal asked the MCI to withdraw notices issued to the traders and industrialists. He said that ICCI would fully cooperate with the corporation in such efforts.
