Buner: Two sub-tehsils in Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), namely Gadezai and Chaghorzai, have been upgraded to subdivision status, a news source reported. The KP Board of Revenue and Peshawar Revenue & Estate Department issued a notification on Tuesday, September 24, and ordered that the change be made with immediate effect.

The Chaghorzai subdivision will consist of 42 Mouzajat and 11 Patwar Halqa, while Gadezai subdivision will include 30 Mouzajat and 14 Patwar Halqa. The elevation of the status of these localities had been a demand of the locals for years now, so the notification was finally issued on special instructions from the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

MPA Riaz Khan stated that the provincial government is committed to conducting development schemes in the areas. They will be provided with a full-fledged administrative setup, as well as tehsil municipal administrations. Khan said that some uplift schemes have already been approved, with a focus on health, education, and tourism.
