Islamabad: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) Zulfiqar Bukhari has urged the expatriates to help Pakistan pursue its digital advancement initiatives.

He was addressing a conference, titled ‘The OPEN Global Charter Member Retreat’, which was recently organised by the Organisation of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN), in Orlando, Florida. The attendees included a large of Pakistanis residing in the United States (US).
He said that the incumbent government had undertaken several measures to improve digital connectivity for the purpose of doing business in Pakistan. He added that these initiatives would also facilitate overseas investment in the country.

The PM’s aide asked the expats to share their technical expertise with the government officials in order to promote economic ventures in the country.
Moreover, he informed the attendees that various sectors of the country needed to be fine-tuned. He underscored the importance of securing expats’ support for promoting housing, industry, and tourism industries.

He urged the expats to invest in Pakistan; stating that the government had recently set up a one-window facilitation centre for providing all business-related services under one roof. He also informed the conference about the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) being launched to facilitate a business-friendly environment in the country.
