Rawalpindi: More than 500 buildings and industrial units in Rawalpindi lack firefighting equipment, according to a news source. The owners of the building have not installed fire extinguishers to deal with emergencies, and these buildings are located in heavily populated areas.
The news source reported further that neither Civil Defence teams nor City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) teams have ever visited the buildings to check whether the owners are following building by-laws.
