As per the information shared by Sindh Minister for Human Settlement Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, the Sindh government will demolish all such buildings in kachi abadis that have more than three storeys. In addition, they will also file cases against the owners of these structures. In August this year, the minister announced that regularisation of 360 slums in Sindh was underway.
In this regard, the government will issue notices to the owners in the first phase of the action plan. Moreover, action will also be taken against contractors hired for such projects. Terming the high-rise buildings in kachi abadis illegal, Minister Baloch warned the public against buying flats in such properties.

To take action against such developers, the concerned department has ordered a survey to collect data on such buildings constructed in kachi abadis. Once the survey results are shared, the Ministry of Human Settlement, the Karachi Development Authority, the Sindh Building Control Authority and the police will launch a joint operation.
